I just got back this evening from listening to Lewis McGehee play, and of course conversation moved toward the CD "The Famous Unknowns" and we started playing it. Then we dug out my LPs. I've got "robin thompson" and "Two B's Please" I still think you wrote some great music. I remember many a night at the Casino in Nags Head during my Summers. We got a wild hair to see if CD's of your old work were available, So here we are!!

attended your 'living room' show the other night @ hampton's american theater. it was awesome! i had forgotten just how much i enjoyed your music. my friend thougth that i was wack-o on the way home with your music cranked up in the cd player and me singing every word (i can't sing) . . . but it felt just like the early '80's when i would ride around in my jeep with the music blaring, thinking that, life is good!! thanks for playing cow girl's, too; that's my very favorite. anyway . . . just wanted to let you know that you're skills are better than ever and that we in va know that you are still one of our state's best-kept secrets!! best wishes for continued success.

I saw you perform at The American Theater on Saturday night...it was great!! I spoke to you about Richmond, my home town, and forgot to mention a place you might enjoy playing. Have you ever been to Ocracoke NC? We go down there several times a year and it has really become a popular place BUT still small island feel, great boating place and super people! They have a small theater and a local blue grass band plays there often. One of the best places to listen to music is one of the outdoor restraunts ...fun times..hope to see you there sometime! There is a local guy that has put out 2 cd's named Noah Pauley..great lyrics and guitar work...check him out. Please let me know when you playing in the Hampton Roads area Good luck in your RETIREMENT!!! Sincerely, Anna Hubbard

Really terrific concert at The American Theatre in Phoebus on Saturday, 7/27. My husband and I loved the music (I remember it from my teenage days; after Saturday, he is now a fan too), the stories, the intimate nature of the show and the excellent acoustics in that beautiful theatre. We bought Out on the Chesapeake and we're anxiously awaiting your new CD. Was the first song you played on Saturday Out on the Chesapeake? We particularly loved the first song you sang, but weren't sure we heard it on the CD. Thanks again for great music, and a wonderful evening.

You show at the American Theatre on the 27th was phenominal. I only wish the chick behind me 1)kept her mouth shut so I could hear the whole show and 2)was't knocking my on my butt with her kick tootie garlic breath. You know who you are, somewhere in row g, probably around #8-10.... Just had to point it out. The show was great. You're so much more entertaining that some of the other "famous unknowns"..

Heard about you from my husband who saw you years ago somewhere on the East Coast (maybe in Nags Head?). He has worn OUT his Two B's Please cassette & we've been searching for the CD 4-ever. Just now thought of trying the internet! We've heard your newest release on "The Coast" while vac in Hatteras (just love that station!) and wish we were able to hear you on the radio here in the DC area. Glad you're still kickin'...

I was quite pleased to find out that "Two B's Please" was now available on CD. I have hung on to my vinyl copy all these years, although I had long since played the grooves off of it. I was at ECU in the late 70's, and I worked at the Attic for a number of years. I had never heard of Robbin Thompson, until he was booked to play there. So on a night off, I showed up at the Attic, to the longest line I had ever seen, It circled the building. And in that line, was the cute little coed that I had been serving free drinks for quite some time. I used my "employee privledge" to its fullest, and pulled her out of line to go in thru the out door with me. That was the beginning of a long wonderful "college romance". So thanks Robbin, for all your help back then, and for the memories now. What a great record...still. And I bet "Out On The Chesapeake" will do the same for "college romancing" these days. Keep up the good work.

Robbin..Really enjoyed your "backyard" concert at Scott Coursen's a couple of weekends ago. I had never listened to your music before that evening even though my friends are big fans. C'mon & hear Robbin, on July 27th..8PM, at the American Theatre (757-722-2787), in Beautiful Downtown Phoebus (Hampton, Va!)! He played there last Summer, sounded great, as usual...only even *better*! The acoustics are incredible! This Theatre was built in 1908, renovated in '98. It has an intimate atmosphere and, last year, Robbin told some good stories between songs! If you don't want to drive home, after the show...stay @ The Chamberlin Hotel. (It was built in the same era as The Old Cavalier, and is on the Bay. Ask for a "new" room...). You don't wanna miss *this* show!

Robbin, We enjoyed your performance at Haborfest. We bought both CD's and have played them for all of our family and friends. Did you have anyone record your Harborfest acoustic performance? If so,we'd buy that one too. Your song about the Chesapeake hits the mark and should be played by the Radio stations around the state.Keep your keel in the water and the Virginia sun on your back when you are out on the Bay.

Saw you at Harborfest, you were great. But when are you going to put your first album out on CD? Also, how about a tour with the whole band? I love the acoustic, but the whole band reunited would be great. Hell froze over, so Tim Schmit and the Eagles reunited (as well as just about every other act from the 70's) so how about Velpo and the boys?
