WOW!! You ARE still alive and doing what you do best.... I used to 'follow' you around in the '80's back in Georgetown,DC, Greenville,NC, and, of course, all around Richmond. Don't worry, you don't know me:) I was one of the few actual "listeners" when you went out acoustic solo. Anyway, glad to know you're about. Please let me know of, if any, west coast appearances..I do get back to the D.C. area several times a year. thanks!

I very much enjoyed your performance at Ashland Coffee & Tea last night. Never thought I would be sitting in a coffee house again enjoying great music in my hectic life. What a pleasure it was to be there with good music and great coffee too! Loved your stories and I can sort of relate as I had just received a $450 cell phone bill (family plan yikes!) the day before! I needed a lift and you were it. Many thanks again for a nice evening of music and congratulations on your great new song "Wouldn't Want to Be You" and best of luck with Capital Records too! (

Sorry, I missed your house show in Norfolk at Jim and Anne's house last summer. Please, please, please reissue your first album on CD sometime since my 22 year old cassette copy of that album just met it's final reward.

Long-time fan since my college days at University of Richmond, where I graduated in 1983. I love local talent and why can't we get our hands on that Christmas CD Bill Bevins is playing on the radio? It's great! Merry Christmas and thanks for all the good tunes.

Hello, Got to see you several times in Tidewater in the early eighties. Still play the old vinyl "2 B's Please". Enjoyed your music then and still do. I just found out about "Out on the Chesapeake". I look forward to hearing it. Would like to hear about any local concerts. Thanks John

Robbin, Today I pulled out a very old cassette of a radio broadcast done by my old college radio station of a show you did there in '79 or so. This would have been at Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. We got a real treat at your expense, since ,as I recall, it was not exactly a packed house that night. More for those of us that showed! I had not been aware of you or your band up until that time and, truth be told, I seem to have forgotten. The performance was absolutely great that evening and I still remember just about every lick your Strat wielding guitar player threw down. Thanks for the music.

Hi Robbin . . . Glad to see you have this Website. You should seriously consider releasing the first album on CD. There's some really fine stuff on there, especially "Lover Come Quickly" and "Boy from Boston." I also want to tell you how blown away I was by your cover of Buddy Holly's "Learning the Game." What a beautiful interpretation. Thanks Robbin, and keep on rockin' . . .

Great to see you're still rockin'! "Two B's Please" has been a fave of mine for 20 years! I still play the vinyl on my turntable. I remember being 15 years old and having a record store at the mall near my home in New Jersey, Harmony Hut, special order it for me because I couldn't find it anywhere. when are you coming to NY?

Just to let all of you know.. I got the new album tonight.. It is wonderful...As I ws buying it, I could not help but brag to the guy at counter that I knew Robbin Thompson and how proud I was to call him a friend..He informed me that when that CD came in, they had 30 copies and I got the last one...Said 1 lady got 5 copies, 1 for each of her children that grew up on Robbin Thompson here in Virginia. The entire CD is breathtaking...Way to go, BIG GUY!! You did it right this time...And I will always be proud to call you a friend........Love, Linda

The year was 1989. You were playing solo at ABBEY ROAD in Virginia Beach. My step-daughter Ann (who is four months younger than I) and I were sitting at a table close to the stage. I was REALLY ENJOYING listening to your music, smiling at you, clapping, etc., and you kept siling back at me -- any performer's reaction when he/she finds an enthusiastic fan in an audience. Between two sets, you left the stage and went over to the bar to get a drink. While you were gone, some really weird woman cam over to where Ann and I were sitting and said to me, "You seem really connected to him! Is he your SON?" I just SMILED at her, but Ann couldn't leave it at that. She couldn't wait to tell you about the woman's remark, so she dragged me over to where you were sitting at the bar and told you about what the woman had said to me. Then she said, "So, Robbin, I want you to meet your mother!" Then Ann asked you how old were you, anyway, and I think I remember you saying you were 41? 42? (I was 33 at the time.) It's a CHERISHED memory -- and a FUN family story!

I grew up in Richmond, and loved "Together" with Steve Bassett -- when is it going to be released on CD? (Please?!?!) I'm looking forward to getting "Two B's Please" and "Out on the Chesapeake." It's hard to get good Richmond music way out here (I know, I know, no sympathy forthcoming for anyone living in Hawaii!) Loved "I wouldn't Wanna Be You Right Now" -- both as a fan of your music, and as a former active duty Marine now working civil service for the Marine Corps, and utterly dedicated to winning this war. God bless you for this song!
