Comments:   It was great to find you after all these years. Ordered 2 B's (to replace my album and worn out cassette) and Out on the Chesapeake, a very nice piece of work. I just received One Step Ahead of the Blues and after a first listen this evening, I wasn't disappointed. I'll continue to watch your gig schedule for a show I can get to...maybe Norfolk as my son just started ODU. Thanks for the music and I WILL pass the word!

Comments:   I first heard Robbin Thompson Band when I was an 18 yr old Navy corpsman stationed in Portsmouth VA. Seems like they were playing somewhere in the Tidewater region all the time, so I went to quite a few concerts. I found 2B's on the internet and purchased it to replace the tape that was stolen years ago. Listened to some of the old songs on my laptop, and the memories came flooding back. (I was actually dating a civilian from VA back then that drove a Rambler and the front seats really did go back all the way!) Oh, give me back those days!! I can hardly wait to turn my teenage daughter on to this music. I'm fortunate in that she loves this kind of sound and isn't really in to some of the strange new stuff out today. I know the chances of touring out my way are probably slim, but I'd love to know if you're ever anywhere close. I'll be sure to get your new CD, too! Thanks for all the great music and especially for all the great memories!

Comments:   Robbin, I saw you when your band opened for "Firefall" in the late 70s/early 80s at the Richmond Coliseum. Loved you, loved your album, played it all the time, but lost track of you. Have been thinking about you recently so I did a Google search and was happy to find you. (Thank GOd for the Internet!) Wish I could have that album (with you sitting in Union Station on the cover) on CD, but since I can't, and I see some of my favorites on 'the vinyl years,' I've ordered that so I can get my fix. Sweet sounds will soon be in my ears again!

Comments:   Robbin: What a great pleasure it was talking to you, receiving your email, and re-enjoying your great songwriting and music again. I am thrilled for you (and myself!) that your work is available on CD. I always felt you deserved more accolades nationally than you received, and think you are one of the great folk/rock talents of the 70's that was semi-buried in the days of Huge Bands such as the Eagles, etc. Wishing you & your family only the best, and congratulate you on leaving such a wonderful musical legacy for 1000's to enjoy. Few are that lucky to have left such a mark on music. Jeff

Hi Robbin, From a long-time fan now in FL. First saw RTB at the now defunct King's Gallery in Princeton,WV way back in 1976. Being a Florida boy going to school in the mountains of WVa Candy Apple Red was a big favorite and still is. Man, I have picked up a few copies of 2B's Please in record stores all over the south over the years and now through this website, I hear it's available on CD. By the way, many of my friends from the old days are scattered throughout VA,WV,and MD...and I'm the only one with both 2B's Please album covers. Is the original cover very valuable? I'm glad to hear you are still performing and recording.I'll be sure to get the new music and look forward to maybe seeing you again...if you're ever in the Tampa Bay area.

Hey Robbin, It was good to meet you last Thursday and check out "One Step Ahead..." in the studio. I listened to it all the way home and then some...... I'd like chat again about mixing the CD in 5.1 or even 6.1 for DTS - I think they would go for it. If you do 3 cuts for the demo to present - please do cuts 1, 4 & 5. BTW - I've been asked to produce a couple of cuts on a DC based country artist. Would it be OK if I presented "It's Hit The Fan" and "Wouldn't Wanna Be You" as potential songs to record? I know some folks are touchy about that. I'd like to take a shot at it, but only if it's OK with you. Anyway - it was good to meet you and I hope we can do some work together in the future. Best, Tom McCarthy

Hey Robbin - When do you think you might be back playing in Roanoke? Last time I saw you was solo at the Coffee Pot a few years ago and I bought your latest cd Loved your concert you did outside at Elmwood Park probably during the Festival in the Park series at night and was sitting in the grass and one song you did that I don't remember seeing on your cds was maybe called "There's a Party at My House Tonite" or something like that - was a long time ago but teriffic show as always At next gig when you play here, if possible, bring copies of cds to sell I have a copy of one of your albums that you signed and love your song "Another Cup of Coffee and a Cigarette" even though I just quit smoking myself New Years after 35 years!! LOL Take care and you're right about VH1's Band Reunions- They're a hoot I moved down here from Chicago in 1977 and grew up in the 60's there One thing I wish Roanoke had and would be perfect for with the surroundings is something like Red Rocks in Colorado for outside concerts Maybe some day!!!! I use to catch you at the Pier in Raleigh (and occasionally up in Richmond) like, ages ago. I was wandering through my vinyl, came across 2Bs and your self titled album that you signed August 1980 The Pier. I couldn't resist checking the Web to see if you were still around. So, do you ever get down this way anymore? Put me on your list if you do.

Got hooked on live performances while summer jobbing in the Outer Banks in late 70's and at occasional visits to The Bayou in D.C. Have (vintage) 8-track of "Two B's Please" that eventually got worn out and replaced with cassette, now CD. Best Friend, Jeff Meeker(who passed away 5 years ago to cancer) loved singing Candy Apple Red until the end, and he actually had a Rambler(front seats went back all the way) Thanks for fantastic memories!

I was a huge fan in the late 70's and early 80's when I lived in Ahoskie, NC - and then I lost track of the band. I played 2B's until the vinyl wore out. I especially loved Brite Eyes which was played heavily on K-94 in Moyock. I saw you guys once live at a club in Ahoskie that is now a Golden Coral! Knocked me out it was so great. Glad to hear you're still making music... please inform me when you are in the Raleigh area, I'd love to see you again. Best regards, Dave Cox

RoBBin, So good to see that you are still around. Lost touch with you many years ago and had almost given up hope. Found your website and what a discovery. Gonna order Two B's and would like to have "Better Late Than Never", but I'll be content with what is available. Saw you in the early 80's at Duke, you opened for Marshall Tucker. The next day I was at the Record Bar scoffing up Two B's. A few years later was fortunate enough to catch you at a club in Raleigh, you signed my Better Late.... after I purchased it there. Have so many great memories associated with your music. Can't wait to get the new stuff. Take care my friend and thanks for all that you have provided.... Harold

Would like to compliement you on your website, and especially "Orange Moon", its a great song! I've always loved the orange moon for real. I am one of the many who heard you in & around the Fan in Richmond. I am living elsewhere because of family obligations now, but hope to return one day; - the "Fan" is where "Its At" for me! Interesting to know about your Chesapeake Bay connections. I'm listening to the CD for the first time now, and love it!I love sailing and the Chesapeake too! My brother lived on his 45' sail boat for a good many yrs., & we had a lot of good time on it [wish he still had it but he got married etc., etc., -you know how that goes, smile!]I was fortunate to have enjoyed life on the Rappahannock for several yrs, not a great distance from where it empties into the Bay. There was a time my husband and I had great plans to buy a sail boat ourselves, and expore the entire Bay; - but plans, like people, sometimes fail to mature. . . I am looking forward to hearing you again. Never stop Rockin' Robbin!

Dear Robbin, I am so glad to find your website. I am going to order all of your CD's tonight. I lived in Richmond and attended VCU during the early 80's and fell in love with your band and had all 3 of your vinyls. We transferred those to CD's a number of years ago but the sound quality with not good. It will be good to hear you again on a quality format. I saw you perform in person many times mostly in Richmond at a club on Broad Street and another smaller club near the campus. We never missed your show! However my favorite performance was when you were in Virginia Beach at a old movie theater that had a balcony and you and the band were down front on a stage. You were singing like crazy and dancing your ass off that night. Do your remember that by chance? It was probably around 1982. My sister got your autograph on a jersey you wore at a benifit hockey game you did that I think was in Norfolk. I have since moved back to my home town of Baton Rouge and started a contracting business. Doing very good as i just build a mini-mansion in the Country Club of LA. You gotta love entrepreneurship, capitalism and America. Well Robbin you gave us a lot of good times and if you are ever in New Orleans give me a call and it would be my pleasure to show you around and take you to get a great Cajun meal. Bill Simmons

It makes me want to go home to the Eastern Shore,go out on the water and take a walk on the beach. I wish more people would realize the many treasures of our lands and seas that need preserving. Transferring my Two B's Please LP to MP3 when I thought I would look you up on the net. Wow, what a great surprise! Bought Two B's Please after seeing you in 1981 at Kings Dominion. Caught you a second time at the Bayou downtown D.C. when Bruce Springsteen came to listen to you perform. Stood right next to him and didn't even know who he was. My friends were at a table a good ways away made absolute fools of themselves. I didn't have a clue till later when he and Clarence got on stage with you. Glad to see I have a chance to catch a gig and hear some of your new stuff. Cool!

Glad to know you're still ROCKIN'! I'm a musician (sax, keys) and being from the southwest corner of Va., wasn't "introduced" to the true Va. sound (Two B's Please), until I went "on the road" in '82 playing the bar band circut. Of the thousands of covers I've played in my 30+ years, I still haven't found a song yet that "does it" for me like "Brite Eyes"! Just surfin' the web and caught your name on a Bruce Springsteen site but I WILL keep up with you now and hope to catch you live sometime soon. Thanks for continuing to show the rest of the world what we already know.........VA IS FOR ROCKERS!! "Hoss"

Got to go to the Cary show. What a GREAT show. What a great venue. I'll tell you one thing, the guy does not get the credit that he deserves for being one hell of a guitar player as well as a great singer / songwriter. Robbin, thanks for being so gracious, autographs, stories etc. I do hope that you will be back soon. And, the new album is ... well ... great! Fans out there. Buy it!!! You will be rewarded. I mean Robbin's version of "Get Together" is worth the cost alone, throw in Orange Moon, One Step, Wouldn't Wanna Be You, You Can't Do That, Chesapeake Moon, and all the rest. Remember how EVERY cut on Two B's was a keeper? Well, Robbin's done it again. This is the best rock album that I have bought in years. Trust me on this one ,,, buy the damn thing.

Robbin, I saw you several times while I was in the Navy, stationed at Portsmouth, VA in the early 80's. I still listen to a very worn out cassette of 2 B's Please. It always takes me back to some great times. I would really like to get some of your music on CD. I visited Tracks in Norfolk on a visit in 1997 but they didn't have anything. Any suggestions? It's very nice to see that you're still playing. I would certainly like to see you live again. Charlie C.

We just came across your site and were so pleased that one of our favorite performer's was still at it. We met you at O.D.U. back in the 80's through our mutual friend Eddie Zapata (Stage manager for the "States"), and we still have the 2 B's please album that your whole band signed for us,we treasure it as we have lived in S.E. Georgia for the past 15 year's, and our daughter is moving to Va. Beach with her new husband. We told them to check you out at our ol' haunt "Abbey Road" Hope you still play there.Love Ya Man!!!

Hey guys, Just ran across an album of yours that inspired me to try and look you up. I've always loved your music but got out of touch over the years. I saw you in Roanoke, Va. I believe it was back in the early 80's!??! lol! The title of the album is the famous "2 B's Please" and I was blessed and had the insight & wisdom to have all of you sign it. I've always treasured it but put it away and never remembered to get it out as I moved over the years. Please get me back in to your touring if so and bring me up to date with any and all info!! Thanks guys. You make some awesome music! Wonder if the Hall of Fame wants my album?? Rick Hager

I just bought your new CD and of all places, I bought it at the Galley in Deltaville. I was paying for dinner and there it was at the checkout. We just spend this past week with my parents in Deltaville and I played it while we were fixing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now the kids, 8, 9 & Two 10 year olds (they are not all mine - there are cousins) have been introduced to you and probably by now know all the words to the songs. It's a great CD! Thanks for the entertainment.

Really glad to see you've got a web-site! I was turned on to your music about '81 when my best friend bought 2 B's Please and made me a copy of it. We'd be jamming down to Myrtle Beach playing Sweet Virginia Breeze-(letting the girls know where we were from.) I still love to pull that cassette out and play it. I've now introduced more people to your sound. Never saw you play live but would love to. Let this old Virginia boy know where you'll be on-stage sometime. Keep up the hot licks!

Robbin, your performance at Starr Hill was top notch! I didn't think you could top the performance at Glen Allen, but this was much more intimate and we all agreed it was much more personal. Thanks so much for putting in so much effort into every performance...it shows! Hoping to see you at Dogwood Dell..after a 25 year withdrawel, I'm definitely having me a "Robbin" year!If ever I can help you promote in the Lynchburg area just holler! Susan

It was great to see you at Starr Hill, Robbin. Hope we get you back in C-Ville real soon. Thoroughly enjoyed your introductions to the songs, especially "All Alone In The End Zone". Both "Out On The Chesapeake" and "One Step Ahead Of The Blues" already spent a lot of time in my CD player, but since Friday night they seem to be permantly lodged there. Thanks for a wonderful evening of awesome music!

As a long time Springsteen fan I became aware of you a long time ago and have enjoyed your solo efforts as well as reading about your exploits with Mr. Springsteen. Are there any plans in the works for a collaborative effort between you and Bruce either in cd or book form? I think the fans would really like to hear you two rock the world as you did way back when. Thanks for all the great music in the past and here's hoping for more in the very near future.
